We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Human Resources Manager based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Regional HR Partner, APAC, this full-time and permanent position is based in Indonesia and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Human Resources department and its’ growth.
As the Human Resources Manager, you will partner with local business leaders and the Regional People Lead to translate business priorities into practical people solutions. The role leads the delivery of the local people agenda, safeguards compliance, strengthens organizational capability and employee engagement, and ensures a consistent employee experience aligned with regional and global standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Partnership & People Strategy
Partner with the Indonesia Market Lead, leadership team, and people managers to understand business priorities and translate them into an actionable people plan.
Provide trusted advice on workforce planning, organization effectiveness, leadership capability, talent, and day-to-day people matters.
Use sound judgment to balance business needs, employee experience, local requirements, and regional governance.
2. Talent, Performance & Leadership
Lead local delivery of goal setting, performance reviews, feedback, calibration, promotions, and performance improvement processes.
Partner with leaders on talent reviews, succession planning, critical-role coverage, career development, and retention actions.
Coach managers to strengthen leadership effectiveness, accountability, and team performance.
3. Employee Relations, Industrial Relations & Compliance
Manage employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary processes, investigations, performance concerns, and separations, fairly and consistently.
Maintain compliance with applicable Indonesian manpower, industrial relations, employment agreement, working-condition, and termination requirements, seeking legal guidance where appropriate.
Build constructive relationships with employee representatives, relevant authorities, and external advisers where required.
Ensure local employment policies, company regulations, contracts, and HR records remain current, appropriately governed, and operationally effective.
4. HR Operations
Oversee the quality and timely execution of employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, employee changes, payroll inputs, benefits, leave, and offboarding.
Maintain effective controls, documentation, reporting, and audit readiness across local HR processes.
5. Organizational Effectiveness & Change
Partner with leaders on organization design, role clarity, workforce restructuring, and change initiatives.
Develop practical change and communication plans that enable adoption, support affected employees, and minimize disruption.
Identify organizational and people risks early and recommend proportionate mitigation actions.
6. Employee Engagement, Culture & Wellbeing
Lead local engagement initiatives and action planning based on employee feedback and people insights.
Champion Vistra’s values and foster an inclusive, respectful, high-performance culture.
Partner with leaders to address retention risks, strengthen communication, and improve the employee experience and wellbeing.
7. HR Program Delivery, Data & Governance
Deliver regional and global HR programs in Indonesia, including reward, talent, learning, engagement, and policy initiatives.
Monitor workforce metrics such as headcount, attrition, engagement, performance, absence, and hiring, and convert insights into actions.
Ensure accurate and timely people reporting and support workforce planning and budget discussions.
Protect employee personal data and support compliant handling, access, retention, and cross-border processing in line with Indonesia’s Personal Data Protection requirements and company standards.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Law, or a related discipline; a relevant professional qualification is advantageous.
Typically 7–10 years of progressive HR experience, with strong exposure to HR business partnering, employee relations, and HR operations in Indonesia.
Demonstrated experience advising senior leaders, managing complex employee matters, and delivering change in a matrixed or multinational organization.
Strong practical knowledge of Indonesian employment and industrial relations requirements; professional fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
Strong stakeholder management, consulting, coaching, communication, and influencing capability.
Resilient, adaptable, and calm in a fast-paced environment.
Employee-focused while maintaining appropriate business judgment and accountability.
