Junior High Math & Science Teacher

Mutiara Harapan School (MHIS) Pangkal Pinang is looking for a passionate and dedicated Junior High Math & Science Teacher to join our team and inspire students to develop strong analytical, scientific, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess engaging Mathematics and Science lessons in accordance with the Pearson Curriculum.

• Deliver clear and engaging lessons using a variety of teaching methods, learning resources, and digital technologies.

• Help students understand mathematical concepts and scientific principles through practical and contextual learning.

• Create and maintain a positive learning environment by managing classroom behavior, encouraging participation, and fostering a respectful and collaborative atmosphere.

• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and school leaders to enhance students’ learning experiences and implement interdisciplinary approaches to education.

• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students’ academic progress, strengths, and areas for improvement.

• Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Science Education, Mathematics Education, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.

• Strong knowledge of international curriculum at least IGCSE/AS Level standard (Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel).

• Proficiency in English at an academic level (IELTS minimum 6.0 or TOEFL minimum 540).

• Strong understanding of Mathematics and Science concepts appropriate for Junior High School students.

• Able to apply standard scientific practical procedures and laboratory practices.

• Proficient in using digital technology to support teaching and learning.

• Minimum 1 year of teaching experience, preferably in an international or national plus school.

• Experience with Cambridge or Pearson curriculum will be an advantage.

• Strong classroom management, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
