About the Role

NodeMeta is looking for a Backend Engineer to join our fully remote Web3 team and take ownership of the backend, indexing, and API layer across our growing ecosystem.

You’ll work on both existing blockchain infrastructure and new products being built from the ground up. The role has a strong focus on blockchain indexing, API development, data consistency, performance, and production-ready backend systems.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and develop backend services using Node.js and Express.
• Build and maintain blockchain indexers for NFT, staking, marketplace, and payment events.
• Process real-time and historical blockchain data reliably.
• Build REST APIs for NFT browsing, search, filtering, listings, bids, and transactions.
• Design PostgreSQL schemas for marketplace, transaction, user, and blockchain data.
• Implement Redis caching and optimize database and API performance.
• Handle blockchain reorganizations, duplicate events, and on-chain/off-chain data consistency.
• Build backend services for SmartCommerce orders, payments, settlement, and fulfillment.
• Integrate IPFS/Arweave metadata with marketplace APIs.
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests and maintain clear technical documentation.
• Build monitoring and alerting for indexer and API health.

• Indexing: The Graph or custom blockchain indexers
• APIs: REST API, GraphQL optional

• Storage: IPFS / Arweave

Requirements:

• 2+ years of professional backend development experience with Node.js.
• Strong experience with Express, REST API design, and backend architecture.
• Solid PostgreSQL experience, including database design and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Redis or similar caching systems.
• Familiarity with blockchain event processing and on-chain/off-chain data synchronization.
• Experience with The Graph, custom indexers, ethers.js, web3.js, or similar blockchain tools.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and data consistency.
• Ability to build scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend services.
• Good written English and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
