General Maintenance Daily Worker

The General Maintenance Daily Worker is responsible for assisting the Engineering/Maintenance team in maintaining the hotel/resort facilities, equipment, guest areas, back-of-house areas, and general property conditions. The position performs routine maintenance, minor repairs, cleaning of technical areas, and other operational tasks as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor or Chief Engineer.

The position is expected to work safely, efficiently, and professionally while supporting the smooth operation of the hotel/resort and ensuring that facilities are maintained in good condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Engineering team with daily maintenance and repair activities throughout the hotel/resort.

• Perform minor repairs and maintenance on hotel facilities, furniture, fixtures, doors, walls, ceilings, and other property assets.

• Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, masonry, and general maintenance work within the scope of assigned duties.

• Check and report any damage, defects, leaks, abnormal conditions, or maintenance requirements to the Engineering Supervisor.

• Assist in preventive maintenance activities for hotel equipment and facilities.

• Support the maintenance and cleanliness of engineering workshops, tools, storage areas, plant rooms, and technical areas.

• Assist in moving, installing, dismantling, or adjusting equipment and other property items when required.

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel departments and assist with resolving basic maintenance issues.

• Support emergency maintenance activities when required.

• Ensure that all tools, equipment, and materials are used properly and safely.

• Maintain proper housekeeping in work areas after completing maintenance activities.

• Follow hotel safety procedures, occupational health and safety requirements, and environmental standards.

• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

• Report unsafe conditions, hazards, or incidents immediately to the supervisor.

• Assist other departments when required for operational and maintenance-related tasks.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Engineer or Engineering Supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum junior/senior high school education or equivalent.

• Previous experience in hotel/resort maintenance, building maintenance, construction, or a similar field is an advantage.

• Basic knowledge of general maintenance work.

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, or mechanical work is an advantage.

• Able to work outdoors and in various hotel/resort operational areas.

• Willing to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime when required.

• Able to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

• Responsible, disciplined, honest, and safety-conscious.

• Good attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
