What you’ll do
As a Senior Webflow Developer, you’ll collaborate with our Design Leads, Creative Director, and broader team to turn ambitious concepts into polished, performant Webflow sites. You’ll bring the technical depth to help us push beyond standard Webflow builds while preserving the intent and craft of the original design.
Webflow Development: You’ll lead Webflow builds from scoping through launch, translating Figma designs into responsive, production-ready websites with a high degree of visual fidelity. You’ll work closely with designers to preserve the intent of each concept across screen sizes, browsers, and technical constraints. When a literal translation isn’t possible, you’ll find thoughtful solutions that maintain the spirit of the design.
QA & Debugging: You’ll develop and execute QA processes for both your builds and the builds of other freelancers, ensuring that staging sites are fully functional, responsive, and performant when they’re sent to the client.
Interactions & Animation: You’ll build custom components, interactions, transitions, and animations that make our sites feel considered and distinctive without sacrificing usability or performance.
Technical Implementation: You’ll use custom CSS, JavaScript, third-party tools, APIs, and integrations when Webflow’s native capabilities aren’t enough. You’ll make sound decisions around accessibility, SEO, performance, browser compatibility, and maintainability.
Technical Leadership: You’ll review work from freelance developers, establish development best practices, troubleshoot complex issues, and help ensure everything we present to clients meets the Bunsen quality bar. You’ll stay up to date with the latest web technologies and industry trends and make recommendations for how Bunsen can stay ahead of the curve.
Client Collaboration: You’ll work directly with clients and stakeholders, providing technical guidance and proactive solutions throughout a project. You’ll lead build handoffs and create walkthroughs so our clients can manage their websites autonomously.
Experience
5–8+ years of front-end development experience and a portfolio of polished, live websites.
Experience building highly interactive or animation-heavy Webflow sites.
Experience with GSAP, Rive, Lottie, custom JavaScript, WebGL, Three.js, or other advanced web animation workflows.
Experience developing reusable Webflow systems, components, and scalable CMS architectures.
Experience integrating third-party APIs, analytics platforms, marketing tools, or custom applications into Webflow.
Experience providing technical direction or reviewing work from other developers.
Experience working with teams in Figma.
Experience with SEO optimization and web accessibility best practices.
Opportunity
Time: We’re looking to build a long-term relationship for ongoing contract work. Initial projects are typically 3–4 weeks at approximately 35 hours per week.
Growth: After successfully delivering two to three projects together, there may be an opportunity for the role to transition into a full-time position.
Location: We are remote-first but require approximately five hours of overlap with Eastern Time. Meetings typically take place between 12–5 p.m. ET.
Compensation: We offer fixed project fees for clearly defined engagements and hourly rates for less-defined or one-off development work.
