A PYP Primary School Teachers' duties at SVP include but are not limited to:
Be aligned with the values of SVP as espoused in the IB learner profile attributes and Champion values.
Possess excellent communication skills and be willing to adapt to the demands of an international curriculum school, in particular, he/she should be able to communicate effectively in English
Have a high level of understanding of current research as to how children learn and possess the ability to motivate students to perform at their best
Through differentiated instruction, and by using a variety of styles, be able to inspire mixed culture and ability classes, by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students
Be able to support student needs in learning and pastoral matters that supports holistic approach to students welfare and is aligned with our Behaviour Management Policy.
Be aware of the principles of Understanding by Design and Assessment for Learning
Implement IB PYP policy and strategic plans
Liaise with the relevant coordinator/s team and the curriculum leaders to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum to specified classes, including selecting resources and managing them efficiently in the classroom
Participate in the design, development, implementation and review of the subject in PYP
Participate in the design, development, implementation and review of assessment and reporting systems
Develop an integrated, inquiry-based programme with interdisciplinary links too the subjects
Expediently, giving explicit feedback and maintaining records of student' progress and development
Researching new topic areas, maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge.
Use technology to support learning especially through use of a Virtual Learning Environment
Developing and continuously updating a professional portfolio
Undergo regular observations and participating in lesson studies either within the same subject group or across the subject as part of continuing professional development (CPD);
Participate in and organizing programs, events and competitions related to their subjects;
Participate in departmental and grade level meetings, conferences with parents and whole school training events;
Advocate for student voice in all aspects of learning.
Acknowledge and support the understanding that students are responsible for their own learning and behaviour.
Job Expectations :
All applicants must hold an S1/Undergraduate qualification from any Department.
Excellent English skills.
Minimum has three years of working experience in related field
