Senior Civil Engineer

ROLE OVERVIEW 

The Senior Civil Engineer will support the planning, technical coordination and site delivery of civil and infrastructure works across Samara Lombok projects. The role will focus on ensuring that earthworks, roads, drainage, utilities, buildings, pools and associated civil works are technically sound, buildable, properly coordinated and delivered to specification. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Review and coordinate civil engineering designs for roads, drainage, earthworks, grading, retaining structures, utilities, buildings, pools and site-development works. 

• Check drawings, calculations, specifications and quantities for technical completeness, constructability and coordination with other disciplines. 

• Support setting-out, levels, grading and site-engineering activities, ensuring works follow approved design data. 

• Monitor contractor execution of civil/structural works and verify compliance with drawings, specifications, method statements and quality requirements. 

• Coordinate civil interfaces with architecture, structural, landscape, MEP and infrastructure utility systems. 

• Review RFIs, shop drawings, material submissions, method statements and technical proposals from contractors. 

• Identify site constraints and design conflicts early and develop practical engineering solutions with consultants and contractors. 

• Monitor testing and inspection activities including compaction, concrete, drainage, pavement and other relevant civil works. 

• Assist with quantity verification, progress measurement and evaluation of technical variations. 

• Maintain clear engineering records, inspection documentation, as-built information and issue tracking. 

• Participate in site coordination meetings and provide concise updates on progress, risks and required decisions. 

• Support snagging, commissioning interfaces and handover of completed civil/infrastructure works. 

• Promote safe working practices and ensure civil activities are executed with proper temporary works and site controls. 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE 

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering. 

• Minimum 5 years of relevant civil/site engineering experience. 

• Hands-on experience with infrastructure, land development or building-related civil/structural works. 

• Strong understanding of earthworks, roads, drainage, grading, concrete works and utility coordination. 

• Ability to read and review civil drawings, profiles, sections, levels and technical specifications. 

• Competence with AutoCAD and common engineering/project documentation tools; Structural 3D experience is advantageous. 

• Good knowledge of QA/QC procedures, field inspections and construction testing. 

• Strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills. 

• Working proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia. 

• Willingness to be based in Lombok and work regularly on active project sites. 

PREFERRED BACKGROUND 

• Experience with large private developers, major contractors or infrastructure consultants. 

• Experience on hospitality, residential, township or destination-development projects. 

• Familiarity with Indonesian civil standards and local authority requirements. 

• Exposure to multidisciplinary coordination and BIM/CAD-based coordination workflows.
