NATIVE ENGLISH TEACHER

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Native English Teacher to join our teaching team in Central Jakarta. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in shaping the English language proficiency and communication skills of our students. As a Native English Teacher, you will be at the heart of our mission to provide high-quality English education, helping secondary students develop fluency, confidence and a genuine passion for the English language. Your expertise and engaging teaching style will directly contribute to our students' academic success and their preparation for higher education and global opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English lessons to secondary students across various proficiency levels, using communicative and student-centred teaching methodologies

• Develop comprehensive lesson plans and learning materials that align with curriculum objectives and cater to diverse learning styles

• Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement

• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation, critical thinking and language development

• Conduct regular one-to-one or small group tutorials to support students requiring additional academic assistance

• Collaborate with fellow teachers and the English department to ensure curriculum coherence and share best practices in language teaching

• Supervise classroom behaviour and maintain discipline whilst promoting respect and mutual understanding amongst students

• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievements and areas for development

• Participate in school events, extracurricular activities and professional development opportunities as required

• Comply with school policies, safeguarding requirements and professional standards in education

What we're looking for

• Native English speaker with excellent command of the English language, including grammar, pronunciation and cultural nuances

• Bachelor's degree in English, Education or a related discipline from an accredited institution

• Recognised teaching qualification or TESOL/TEFL certification (CELTA, DELTA or equivalent) is highly desirable

• A minimum of 2-3 years' experience teaching English in a school setting, preferably in an international or bilingual environment

• Experience in Cambridge Curriculum. (Primary Checkpoint, IGCSE, AS Level, A Level will be an advantage)

• Proven ability to design and implement engaging lessons that inspire student interest and promote language acquisition

• Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain a positive, organised and productive learning environment

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with students, colleagues and parents

• Proficiency in using educational technology and digital teaching tools

• Flexibility, adaptability and willingness to take on additional responsibilities to support school initiatives

• A genuine passion for education and commitment to student wellbeing, development and academic achievement

• Understanding of Indonesian education context and experience with international curricula (such as IB, Cambridge) would be advantageous
