Middle School Science Syllabus Developer

The Science Syllabus Developer is responsible for designing and developing a comprehensive Middle School Science syllabus aligned with the Cambridge Curriculum and GIGS’ Spiritual, Green, and Global vision. This role ensures that the syllabus supports conceptual understanding, scientific inquiry, skill development, assessment alignment, and meaningful learning progression across the middle school level.

The Science Syllabus Developer will work closely with school leadership, the Academic Team, and relevant teachers to ensure that the syllabus is academically rigorous, developmentally appropriate, well-structured, and ready for classroom implementation. The role requires strong understanding of science education, curriculum design, Cambridge learning expectations, assessment planning, and integration of values, sustainability, and global perspectives.

General Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, General Science, Curriculum and Instruction, or a relevant field. Master’s degree is preferred.

• Strong communication skills in English and Indonesian, both oral and written.

Specific Requirements:

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in science teaching, curriculum development, syllabus design, instructional design, or educational content development.

• Strong understanding of Middle School Science concepts, scientific inquiry, laboratory or investigation-based learning, and science process skills.

• Strong understanding of Cambridge Science Curriculum, learning objectives, progression, assessment expectations, and international curriculum standards.

• Able to design a coherent science syllabus with clear learning objectives, scope and sequence, unit structure, learning activities, assessment plans, and resources.

• Able to integrate Spiritual values, green education, sustainability issues, and global perspectives naturally into science learning.
