Job Summary

We are looking for a SWAP Engineer (Squad Support) to join our dynamic cross-functional squads. Unlike a dedicated Feature Software Engineer, your primary focus will be supporting squad operations, ensuring application health, troubleshooting production issues, handling technical tickets, and implementing minor updates across our fullstack environment (Golang, Java, and Next.js)..

Key Responsibilities

• Squad Operational Support: Integrate directly into development squads to handle day-to-day application support, technical queries, and maintenance tasks.
• Bug Fixing & Minor Enhancements: Investigate, debug, and resolve application bugs or implement minor feature tweaks across the stack (Golang, Java, Next.js).
• Incident Response & Triage: Act as the first line of defense within the squad for technical escalations, root-cause analysis (RCA), and production issue resolution.
• Code Maintenance & Patching: Perform code refactoring, dependency updates, and maintenance patches without taking on heavy full-cycle feature creation.
• System Monitoring & Health: Monitor application logs, performance metrics, and system alerts to proactively catch and fix potential issues before they impact users.
• Collaboration & Handoff: Work closely with Product Owners, Core Software Engineers, and QA to ensure smooth deployments and reliable post-release support.

Job Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 3-4 years of experience in Application Support, Software Engineering, or a technical hybrid role (Fullstack Support / Maintenance Engineer).
• Backend: Hands-on experience or familiarity with Golang and/or Java for backend debugging, reading code bases, and writing bug fixes.
• Frontend: Working knowledge of Next.js (or React) and JavaScript/TypeScript to support UI/UX troubleshooting and minor frontend adjustments.
• Databases & APIs: Basic understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and SQL/NoSQL databases to query and troubleshoot data issues.
• Problem-Solving & Debugging: Strong analytical skills with a knack for reading existing codebases, trace logs, and diagnosing root causes efficiently.
• Agile Mindset: Comfort working within an Agile/Scrum squad framework (participating in daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and sprint planning).
• Communication Skills: Good command of English (both written and verbal) to document issues, collaborate with team members, and communicate updates clearly.
