Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, power systems, or industrial plant environments.
Strong understanding of electrical power systems, including LV (400V & 690V), MV, and HV systems (6.6kV, 11kV, 35kV, and 150kV), power distribution, switchgear, protection relays, transformers, and generators.
Knowledge of grid synchronization, load flow analysis, and power factor correction.
Working knowledge of plant electrical equipment, including motors (induction and synchronous), VFDs, soft starters, MCCs, lighting systems, earthing/grounding systems, UPS, and diesel generator (DG) systems.
Familiarity with automation and control systems such as DCS, PLC, SCADA, and HMI used in industrial operations.
Understanding of instrumentation and process control integration in manufacturing and power systems.
Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance techniques, including thermography, insulation resistance testing, and vibration analysis.
Understanding of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles and electrical asset reliability management.
Knowledge of power generation systems, including boilers, turbines, and auxiliary systems.
Understanding of pulp and paper production processes and the role of electrical systems in ensuring operational continuity.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in electrical system diagnostics.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
Good communication and teamwork abilities with cross-functional coordination.
Awareness of HSE standards, electrical safety regulations, and industrial risk management.
Physically fit and able to work in industrial environments, including hazardous areas.
Willingness to work at heights and in confined spaces when required.
Demonstrated commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure electrical systems operate reliably to support stable plant operations and production continuity.
Monitor performance of motors, transformers, MCCs, MV switchgear, and VFD systems to detect early signs of failure or abnormal conditions.
Collaborate with production operators and maintenance teams to investigate process alarms, MCC/VFD trips, and system abnormalities.
Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive maintenance plans for critical electrical equipment.
Execute and manage SAP-based preventive maintenance schedules, ensuring timely completion and accurate documentation.
Perform condition monitoring and health checks on motors, transformers, MCCs, MV switchgear, and VFD systems.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for electrical failures and recommend permanent corrective actions.
Support breakdown maintenance activities and work closely with Electrical Technicians during failures, shutdowns, and emergency situations.
Ensure fast restoration of electrical systems to minimize downtime and production losses.
Verify protection relay settings in accordance with maintenance schedules and regulatory requirements.
Utilize power quality analyzer tools to assess and ensure system power quality.
Maintain and update as-built drawings for VFDs, MCCs, and MV switchgear systems.
Ensure compliance of electrical systems with safety standards, especially in hazardous operating environments.
Test and validate Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and Emergency Shutdown (ESD) systems.
Participate in internal and external audits, including ISO, HSE, and compliance audits.
Plan and execute electrical scope for planned shutdowns, including short shutdowns and annual turnarounds.
Coordinate procurement of spare parts, calibration tools, and contractor support services.
Manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability for maintenance and emergency repairs.
Read and interpret technical manuals and engineering documentation to support operational activities.
Develop and socialize work instructions and maintenance procedures to support operational teams.
