Innovation Specialist

About the Role

The Innovation Specialist is responsible for leading and executing complex innovation and rapid prototyping projects that support product development and manufacturing excellence. Reporting to the Sr. Innovation Manager, you will oversee additive manufacturing processes, optimize machine performance, establish operational standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to the company's strategic objectives and business growth.

This role plays a critical part in advancing innovation by ensuring efficient operation of 3D printing technologies, improving production processes, mentoring team members, and implementing high-impact solutions that enhance quality, productivity, and profitability.

Job Responsibilities

Innovation & Rapid Prototyping

• Lead and execute innovation projects and rapid prototyping activities to support product development.

• Develop innovative solutions that improve manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and overall business performance.

• Design and manage projects aligned with the company's strategic goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Additive Manufacturing & Machine Management

• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety standards for 3D Fusion and 3D Printing equipment.

• Act as the technical expert for troubleshooting, machine calibration, and advanced maintenance activities.

• Ensure optimal machine performance, reliability, and operational readiness.

Process Improvement & Standardization

• Define and document operational parameters to ensure consistent product quality and manufacturing standards.

• Analyze machine performance and material consumption data to identify improvement opportunities and optimize production efficiency.

• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.

Material Management

• Manage specialized materials used in additive manufacturing processes.

• Collaborate with the Procurement team to forecast material requirements and evaluate new materials for future projects.

Leadership & Technical Support

• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and training to junior team members and cross-functional teams on 3D design software and additive manufacturing technologies.

• Support cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Procurement teams to ensure successful project execution.

Job Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Rapid Prototyping, Additive Manufacturing, Research & Development (R&D), or a similar high-tech manufacturing environment.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Rhinoceros (Rhino), NX, and 3D Printing Slicer software.

• Strong understanding of industrial 3D Fusion and 3D Printing technologies, including machine calibration and maintenance.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis for process monitoring and performance reporting.

• Experience in process standardization, quality control, and continuous improvement methodologies.

• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Analytical Skills

• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to identify process improvements, solve complex technical challenges, and optimize manufacturing performance.

Communication

• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and communicate technical information clearly.
