The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Facility Operation Manager to lead the operation and maintenance of our mission-critical data center infrastructure in Indonesia. This is a leadership role that combines deep technical expertise with operational excellence and people management. As the technical leader of the facility, you will be responsible for ensuring continuous availability, reliability, and performance of all critical electrical and mechanical systems while driving operational readiness, risk management, and continuous improvement. Your leadership will directly contribute to maintaining high availability standards expected by hyperscale and enterprise customers.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Campus Operations Manager, the Facility Operation Manager serves as the operational leader for all critical infrastructure within the assigned data center. The role is responsible for overseeing the safe operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of mission-critical systems, including:
• High- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems
• UPS systems and battery infrastructure
• Diesel generators and fuel systems
• Chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, and Liquid cooling systems
• Fire detection and suppression systems
• Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS)
• Mechanical, electrical, and auxiliary facility equipment
The Facility Manager provides technical leadership during operational incidents, planned maintenance, and emergency response activities, ensuring service continuity while minimizing operational risk. The role also works closely with project, commissioning, and engineering teams to support infrastructure upgrades, capacity expansion, and operational readiness for new facilities.
Leadership Responsibilities
The Facility Manager plays a critical role in building and developing a high-performing Site Engineering Operations team. This includes recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and developing engineers and technicians to achieve world-class operational standards.
Key leadership responsibilities include:
• Building a strong safety-first culture across all operations.
• Developing team capability through structured technical training and competency development.
• Implementing global operational standards, policies, and best practices.
• Driving operational discipline through preventive maintenance, incident management, and root cause analysis.
• Managing operational KPIs, service level objectives, reliability metrics, and performance scorecards.
• Ensuring accurate documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), Maintenance records, and change management processes are maintained.
• Promoting continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and engineering excellence across the facility.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline. • Minimum 10 years of experience in data center operations or other mission-critical facilities, such as:
o Hospitals
o Power Plants
o Oil & Gas
o Mining
o Aviation
o Public Safety Facilities
o Semiconductor Manufacturing
o Other critical infrastructure environments
• Minimum 5 years of experience leading people, with responsibility for managing multiple direct reports.
• Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure in a 24x7 operational environment.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
• Strong technical knowledge of mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems, including power distribution, UPS, generators, cooling systems, and building management systems.
• Experience operating hyperscale or enterprise data centers.
• Strong understanding of preventive maintenance, reliability engineering, and asset lifecycle management.
• Experience leading incident management, root cause analysis, and operational recovery.
• Knowledge of data center operational standards, safety practices, and engineering best practices. • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build, inspire, and develop high-performing engineering teams.
