Yukerja Summary

The Quality Control Engineer role at Oil States Industries is curated from JobStreet (category Teknologi & IT). Note the work location (Riau) before applying. Yukerja.com is not the employer — applications are handled on the official source site.

A key responsibility of the QC Engineer is to maintain and oversee NDT compliance, including ensuring that NDT personnel qualifications meet required standards and that inspections such as visual testing and other NDT methods are conducted properly. The position also requires reviewing inspection records and maintaining proper documentation in the Master Control System, ensuring all quality reports, inspection records, and data books are accurate and issued in a timely manner.

Operationally, the QC Engineer supervises daily shop floor inspection activities, conducts project briefings with inspectors, and coordinates closely with production teams to ensure inspection requirements align with manufacturing schedules. The role also involves preparing and updating quality plans, Inspection Test Plans (ITP), and inspection notifications, as well as issuing test requests and coordinating testing activities with vendors and third-party service providers.

The QC Engineer plays a critical role in identifying and managing nonconformities (NCRs) by initiating reports, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and improvement actions to prevent recurrence. The role also requires regular communication and coordination with customers, third-party inspectors (TPI), and vendors during inspection and surveillance activities, ensuring transparency and prompt response to customer complaints or quality issues.

In addition, the QC Engineer is responsible for monitoring inspection results, reviewing NDT findings, verifying calibration of inspection tools and equipment, and ensuring the validity of inspection data. The role includes preparing weekly reports on QC activities for the QHSE Manager, as well as generating monthly statistics on welder performance. The QC Engineer may also be required to plan QC resources for weekend work to meet production and customer requirements.

From a governance and compliance perspective, the QC Engineer ensures adherence to Oil States Industries’ HSE policies and Quality Management System, participates in internal and external vendor audits, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at strengthening quality control processes.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent, along with professional certifications such as AWS or CSWIP Welding Inspector and ASNT NDT Level II or equivalent. Strong technical knowledge of relevant standards—including API 6A, API 16A, API 16C, API 1104, API STD 64, NACE MR0175, ASME Section VIII and IX, and ASTM NDT standards—is essential.

Candidates are expected to have a minimum of seven years of experience as a QC Engineer, including at least four years in the manufacturing, repair, or remanufacturing of drilling equipment and tubular products, as well as experience supervising inspection teams, training personnel, and participating in quality audits. Strong communication, leadership, teamwork, and presentation skills, along with the ability to effectively manage quality-related issues with internal and external stakeholders, are critical for success in this role.
